DALLAS — The Houston Texans, who have a home-field advantage over the Cleveland Browns in the AFC North, are among those interested in staying in a Browns stadium that will be renovated for the NFL playoffs.NFL spokesman Michael Signora said Thursday the Texans are not currently interested in playing at NRG Stadium, but he would not comment on the ownership group’s desire to keep the team.
The Texans are owned by a group led by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
The group is trying to get a new stadium built on the city’s waterfront near NRG Field.
The NFL has not yet decided whether to allow the Texans to stay.
The team has played at NRGs Stadium since 1994, when it played its first playoff game.
